Square Enix needs to remaster Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII in the same way that it's doing with Crisis Core Reunion, as it's a key part of the story of FF7, yet it has never left Japan. Before Crisis is an action RPG that was released for mobile phones in 2004 and has yet to leave Japan. Square Enix is planning on adapting part of Before Crisis into the upcoming Ever Crisis on mobile phones, but fans need to experience the full story and not pieces that need to be weeded out through a gacha game.
Before Crisis follows the Turks before and during the events of FF7, as they perform the dirty work of the Shinra Electric Power Company. FF7 confirmed that the Shinra executives are very good at hiding their misdeeds and altering public perception to their needs, so the developers had a lot of leeway when it came to adding to the lore of FF7. Before Crisis showed the Turks battling the original incarnation of Avalanche, as they attempted to use a forbidden summon materia to cleanse the world of humanity. The Turks also managed to witness Sephiroth's destruction of Nibelheim firsthand and were unable to help Cloud and Zack in their attempt to stop him.

Square Enix is remastering Crisis Core as FF7: Crisis Core Reunion, making it available on modern systems for the first time, and adding a number of quality-of-life improvements. Before Crisis needs the remaster treatment a lot more than Crisis Core, as it's impossible to play on any system at this moment in time. Final Fantasy fans curious about Crisis Core can track down an old copy and a PSP if they have the cash, yet Before Crisis is lost to time, and is in dire need of a rebirth.
