hasn’t even been out for two years and it is already being pulled. Publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment announced that the poorly received racing game based in the popular film franchise will no longer be on sale on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC starting on April 29, 2022 at 4 a.m. CEST. However, the exact time may vary by region.
As pointed out by Video Games Chronicle, the game’s official site explained the news in a quick update. As is the case with many delisted games, those who have bought it will still be able to redownload it. DLC purchased before April 29 will also be useable after that date, too.
And while it seems like the game as a whole is shutting down, Bandai Namco said that the servers would still be active. However, seeing as though the publisher is pulling the plug only around a year and a half after launch doesn’t signal that its online multiplayer will stay up for that much longer.
Originally pegged for May 2020, came out in August 2020 and was almost unanimously panned, averaging a measly 38 on OpenCritic. Almost every aspect of the title from the racing to its mission design was heavily scrutinized, which included its online modes that were almost always devoid of players. Slightly Mad Studios, a team known for racing games like and, developed the title after being acquired by developer Codemasters in 2019.
