She’s one of the best characters in Fast & Furious Spy Racers, but who is Layla Gray and what is her backstory? Since its inception over two decades ago, Universal Pictures’ Fast & Furious series has become one of the most successful franchises in media history. The ten Fast & Furious movies that have been released to date have raked in over $6.6 billion at the worldwide box office and several more films are already in the works. The franchise has also spawned a couple of short films, several video games and some toy ranges.
In 2019, the Fast & Furious film franchise debuted its first TV show on Netflix. Titled Fast & Furious Spy Racers, the animated series is the brainchild of Tim Hedrick (Voltron: Legendary Defender) and Bret Haaland (All Hail King Julien) and aired for six seasons before coming to an end in December 2021. It follows the adventures of Vin Diesel’s character Dominic Toretto’s younger car-obsessed cousin Tony Toretto (voiced by Tyler Posey) after he and his friends are recruited by a government agency to infiltrate an organization known as SH1FT3R that uses an elite street racing league as a cover for its many criminal activities.
