The Fantastic Four are beloved in Marvel Comics, but the many cinematic adventures of the team never quite measured up to the source material — and Marvel recently revealed exactly why. The four Fantastic Four films released between 1994 and 2015 (not counting the upcoming MCU Fantastic Four adaptation) failed at the box office for various reasons, from an exceedingly-low budget to massive liberties taken from the source material to overly comedic and/or dramatic tones. Slott also launched the Reckoning War, a massive event for which the groundwork was laid all the way back in 2006 (also by Slott).
