A new Fallout 76 update entitled Test Your Metal will introduce three new Public Events, marking the beginning of Season 9. Test Your Metal is the game's summer update and promises challenges that will bring special rewards.
Fallout 76 is an online multiplayer RPG based on the Fallout series, set as a prequel to the other titles. Although the game faced scrutiny upon release in 2018 for its host of bugs and glitches, it has since been consistent about bug improvement and adding new content for players to enjoy. This has included the addition of Fallout 76 seasons alongside numerous Public Events for players to participate in, often including unique gear and loot. Each new Fallout 76 season includes a scoreboard for players to level up on through participating in seasonal challenges, and as they level up, they will unlock limited-time offers like new C.A.M.P. items and skins.

Fallout 76's Test Your Metal update has officially been released, marking the beginning of the ninth season. Test Your Metal brings 3 new Public Events to the game, detailed in a Bethesda press release. The new Public Events are: Test Your Metal, which pits players against the Rust Eagles, Eviction Notice, which sees Super Mutants overrunning an encampment and threatening a Rad Scrubber, and Moonshine Jamboree, about collecting Gulper Venom to create Mire Magic Moonshine. Season 9 also introduces a new journey on the area of Dread Island, which offers its own unique scoreboard rewards.
