Developer Mediatonic has released an update about its ever-popular battle royale platformer, Fall Guys. The free-to-play game is undergoing a couple of changes to make the play experience better, and beyond that, Fall Guys Creative — a level editing suite — is coming soon.
Effective immediately, the maximum lobby size in the Main Show — Solos playlist has been reduced from 60 to 40 players. The main reason for this change is to decrease the amount of time spent matchmaking, so you should find you're getting into games faster. An additional bonus effect is that your odds of winning have gotten a little bit better.
Another thing to note is that something called vaulting is to remain a fixture of the game's flow. The term 'vaulting' refers to Mediatonic only allowing certain Rounds to be playable during a period of time, with the lineup changing every so often. With everything in play all at once, it can lead to bugs and other problems; restricting which Rounds are live and which aren't means Mediatonic can better maintain the game's content as it rotates in and out of play.
Fall Guys Creative is the level editor heading to the game, as announced last year. The studio has now confirmed this mode will be launched with the game's next seasonal update. There's no fixed date on that just yet, but it looks like fans will be able to craft their own heinous stages within the coming months.
