Capcom recently announced Exoprimal, a dinosaur mech combat game, during March's PlayStation State of Play event. While clearly inspired by the Dino Crisis series, the new title appears to put a sci-fi spin on prehistoric action with gameplay similar to Anthem. Rumors recently pointed to a new Capcom game similar to Dino Crisis, and the project has now been officially unearthed.
Capcom's classic Dino Crisis series put a unique spin on survival horror by pitting gamers against vicious dinosaurs. The series revolves around various different locations that experience outbreaks of ancient carnivorous lizards, with players forced to fight or flee in order to survive. The original Dino Crisis released in 1999, launching a successful franchise that includes sequels released in 2000 and 2003. Lately the series has fallen into obscurity, however, being eclipsed by more successful survival horror franchises like Resident Evil and Silent Hill. The recent success of Capcom's Resident Evil remakes has led fans to call for a Dino Crisis remake, though no such project has been announced.

An apparent spiritual successor to Dino Crisis, a sci-fi shooter called Exoprimal, has been revealed by PlayStation (via YouTube) during its recent State of Play. Taking place in the year 2043, the action title outfit players with various suits of high-tech powered armor reminiscent of BioWare's Anthem. Players use these suits to combat hordes of bloodthirsty dinosaurs, including the triceratops and the dreaded T-rex.
