Fans will be very happy to know that Slate is back reprising her role as Marcel, and Fleischer-Camp is in the director's chair. After premiering at the Telluride Film Festival in 2021, A24 acquired distribution rights. A24 is the trendiest company in the business right now and is known for taking on pictures that are offbeat and weird. A story about a one-inch shell living with his grandma and looking for his family seems like a perfect fit. They also have garnered a lot of hardcore fans, meaning Marcel the Shell with Shoes On is sure to develop a good cult following, if not worldwide success.
