Evo 2022’s games lineup has been revealed and this year’s tournament will feature many of the classic and mammoth franchises you’d expect to be there, including Street Fighter 5, Tekken 7, and Mortal Kombat 11.
There are also a couple of new additions to this year’s lineup, with Skullgirls: 2nd Encore and Melty Blood: Type Lumina both making their debut at the tournament. A full list of the nine games making up Evo 2022’s lineup can be found below.

Fans of the tournament will know that Evo 2020 was canceled due to a mixture of pandemic concerns and corporate controversy, while Evo 2021 had to shift online due to the resurgence of the Delta variant. Thankfully, Evo 2022 will go ahead with its traditional in-person event in Las Vegas later this year, much to the delight of fighting game fans across the globe.
Unfortunately, Evo 2022’s return will also mark the first time since 2007 that Super Smash Bros. won’t be making an appearance, after Nintendo pulled the series from the tournament for unknown reasons. At the time, Nintendo announced that it would be partnering with Panda Global to start its own tournament, which is likely the reason for Smash’s removal from Evo 2022, but this reasoning hasn’t been confirmed by Nintendo itself.
Whether Smash Bros. is there or not, Evo 2022 still promises to be quite an exciting event for fighting game fans as the decision to return to in-person stadiums is more than a welcome one.
