Leatherface is officially back after a five-year-long hiatus in the upcoming Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2022,and here's everything we know about the reboot. From the looks of the trailer, the reboot doesn’t stray from the bloody, gore-filled original. The film will be the first movie in the series since Leatherface (2017) and the ninth film in the almost five-decade-long franchise.
The upcoming slasher film is directed by David Blue Garcia (Bloodfest), with a script by Chris Thomas Devlin (Cobweb). Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2022 is based on the original story by Fede Álvarez (Don't Breathe) and Rodo Sayagues (Don't Breathe, Don't Breathe 2). The movie will also serve as a direct sequel to the 1974 film.
