Everything We Know About Sonic The Hedgehog 3

With the positive reception of both Sonic the Hedgehog and its sequel, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, there is natural excitement around Sonic the Hedgehog 3 and here's all that's known about it so far. The Sonic franchise has been one of the most famous in gaming history, with the eponymous blue hedgehog rivaling characters like Mario in terms of popularity. Naturally then, the character was adapted into a cinematic universe, becoming both critically well-received and commercially successful.
Sonic the Hedgehog was released in February 2020 to mostly positive reviews before becoming the highest-grossing video game film adaptation of all time in North America. Both of these successful elements led to a sequel being made, Sonic the Hedgehog 2, which was released in April 2022. The sequel, which just hit theaters, finds Sonic teaming up with his best friend, Tails, to stop Dr. Robotnik and his new sidekick, Knuckles.

Following the release of that film to slightly improved critical and fan reception, speculation began about Sonic the Hedgehog 3.
