Hit indie strategy game Into The Breach is getting some cool new additions as a free update. After this update, called Into the Breach: Advanced Edition, the game will have additions to nearly every facet of its gameplay, including pilots, missions, mechs, and more. In addition, an interesting new port of the game will be released as well.
Into The Breach was developer Subset Games' second game, following 2012's strategy hit FTL: Faster Than Light. Originally released on PC, Into The Breach is widely regarded as one of the best indie games of 2018, the year of its release. Following the initial release in February, the game then came to Nintendo Switch in August of that year. Since its release, the game hasn't been updated with much other than new localization and optimization patches.

That changes on July 19, when Into The Breach gets upgraded to Into The Breach: Advanced Edition. Most parts of the game will remain the same, just with additional content. For those looking for an extra challenge, though, a new, more challenging difficulty mode will be coming with the update as well. The update also comes at the same time as an interesting new port for players to get their hands on.
Into The Breach: Advanced Edition isn't bringing anything to reinvent or overhaul the game, unlike overhauls that games like No Man's Sky have gotten through free updates. Instead, the game is bringing a lot more of what players already love. On the player side, there will be access to five new mech squads, four new pilots, and nearly forty new weapons.
