Everwild has been shrouded under a veil of mystery lately, with not much known other than small bits of information from the trailers. Hope is not lost, now that a programmer from Sea of Thieves developer Rare Studios has revealed that the game will have a «large scale multiplayer world».
Rare Studios, currently owned by Microsoft, is a legendary developer founded by the Stamper Brothers in 1985. It is best known for Banjo-Kazooie, Donkey Kong Country, a few Kinect games, and, more recently, Sea of Thieves. Everwild is Rare's newest exclusive game where players will take control over the Eternals, a small group of humans who have a magical connection to the natural world around them. The game was announced back in November 2019 and has been in development.

A developer from Rare has detailed some core features on what potential players can expect from the world of Everwild. As hinted in the dev's job description for his work on the game, Everwild could have an expansive multiplayer world, similar to that of Rare's other IP Sea of Thieves. There are also hints that for single-player gameplay the devs have been building «extended Artificial Intelligence systems» that seem to be looking toward a strong focus on PvE gameplay, also used heavily in Sea of Thieves.
It's not surprising that the developers at Rare have been taking some elements from their current IP Sea of Thieves for Everwild. It's often very risky to try something new on a new game with unpredictability being one of the risks. After news came out that Everwilds had to be «rebooted,» it's expected that Rare might need to go back to basics for simplicity's sake.
