EverQuest has a new Producer’s Letter, revealing the rest of 2024's content, including a preview of The Outer Brood, the 31st expansion.
This has been a big year indeed, with the 25th anniversary of EverQuest and the 20th anniversary of EverQuest II. The Year of Darkpaw continues with more giveaways, new monthly collections, as well as a new monthly quest in the Anniversary Tower, new merchant items and a heroic Adventure. Now that it’s October, The team is ramping up with the last big events and reveals of 2024.
In November we get more anniversary content, a special Champions Festival return for EverQuest who's 20th anniversary, Extra Life Game Day, and Raid! Raid! Raid comes back. In December, we get to prepare for December quests, the return of Frostfell and the New Year's Event as well as the yearly expansion launch.
The title of the 31st expansion, The Outer Brood, was revealed, along with much more, at Fippy Fest this summer. The expansion is headed to beta, and we get more info on the premise and just what will be facing in Norrath when the expansion is out in December:
“In the sky over the hills of the long-ignored Hodstock looms a massive behemoth. A creature so large that it appears to have an entire city on its back. Terrifying monsters fly down from that city. Beasts that have never been seen in Norrath before! Where have they come from, and what could they possibly want?”
The letter goes on to mention dragons and the big leviathan in the sky with unfamiliar forces from within. So what does this mean? A new adventure, of course. “Norrathians of all types, mortal and Dragon alike, have banded together to face this unknown power and attempt to drive them back to wherever they came from.”
Work will also continue on ongoing improvements to anti-cheat, server performance and stability, and the gradual conversion to the new UI engine.
