Elden Ring patch 1.07 is now available, bringing some of the most significant and extensive changes to date. Following brief Elden Ring server maintenance that has since concluded, FromSoftware has brought out an update that has notable implications for PVP and serious improvements to sorcery/incantations, in an attempt to broaden item versatility and build variety.
With Elden Ring's previous 1.06 update, that released August 9, FromSoftware continued its efforts at post-launch support, opening up the option for summoning to occur across distant areas. The improvement of PVP functionality has been a priority of recent updates, such as rebalancing the dreaded Rivers of Blood «Corpse Piler» skill to inflict less bleed build-up upon a blood attack hit and decreasing both the distance traveled and invincibility frames of the infamous «Bloodhound Step» Ash of War.

In an announcement posted to the Elden Ring Twitter account, the linked patch notes begin by noting that «separate damage scaling» has been introduced for PVP. PVP exclusive changes then follow, including increased poise damage for normal attacks and reduced Ashes of War power across the substantial catalog of weaponry. General changes include yet another improvement for Colossal Swords, with players now able to enjoy increased attack speed and decreased recovery time albeit with a nerf to the crouch poke.
