Though the Spiritcaller Snail appears to constitute the weakest of Elden Ring's boss characters, one player learned the creature actually packs quite the powerful grab attack. Elden Ring's most difficult bosses come in all shapes and sizes, ranging from the creepy Godskin Duo and Godfrey, the First Elden Lord to the behemoth that is Starscourge Radahn and Malenia, Blade of Miquella.
Not every encounter of this nature proves overly difficult to surmount, though. As noted above, many have found the Spiritcaller Snail to be a fairly straightforward foe in terms of challenge. Players can stumble across this optional boss on two separate occasions — once in Road's End Catacombs and again at Spiritcaller's Cave. The Spiritcaller Snail becomes especially threatening upon summoning help from other spirits, who serve as little more than a distraction. Thus, it's best that Elden Ring players focus on actually seeking out and attacking the Spiritcaller itself. It seems this otherwise simple tactic can turn deadly, though.

While taking on the Spiritcaller Snail boss in Elden Ring, Reddit user Psychadelico (via GamesRadar) took a moment to down a Flask of Crimson tears. This turned out to be the worst time to take a health potion break. In a split second, the Spiritcaller jumped midair, latched on to the Tarnished, and killed them in a matter of seconds. "Did you know Spiritcaller Snail has a grab attack," the Reddit user asked in their post. One top comment notes they weren't aware the creature attacked at all.
