A new video shows Elden Ring gameplay stripped of its high-quality textures, demonstrating the game's potato mode, which resembles an epic fantasy claymation film. Although the game has only been out for a little more than a week, Elden Ring has already broken several sales records and has become one of Twitch's most viewed games. The game rewards players for exploration without giving away too much information, creating an outstanding level of accomplishment not found in many video games made today. Screen Rant gave Elden Ring a perfect score, but the game hasn't been without performance issues.
Elden Ring is a vast open-world game from the creators of Dark Souls released on both past and current-generation consoles. The PC version has been known for frame-rate stutters and specific performance issues that have also been found in the game's console versions. FromSoftware is currently working to improve the game's performance across the board with patches. Some players have found the best way to play Elden Ring with 60fps is by playing the PS4 version of the game through PS5's backwards compatibility mode. But a few players have found an unconventional way to make the gameplay run even smoother.
