Hot on the heels of Elden Ring being unofficially remade for the Game Boy, FromSoftware's very popular game is also set to receive an unofficial virtual reality mod.
As PCGamesN reports, the VR mod is the work of Luke Ross, who has already proven his abilities with similar mods for Cyberpunk 2077, Red Dead Redemption 2, and GTA V. And to prove he's serious about this project, we already have a sneak peek video to watch:
We only get a glimpse of it at the end of the video, but playing in VR brings a whole new level of terror to combat in the game.
For GTA V, Ross created a "total VR conversion" meaning the game can be played from start to finish in stereoscopic VR. If he manages the same for Elden Ring, that will be very impressive and a whole new challenge for anyone with access to a VR headset and a gaming PC.
Although unofficial, I bet both Sony and FromSoftware will be curious to see how well this VR mod turns out. The popularity of Elden Ring, combined with Sony preparing to launch the PlayStation VR2, means an Elden Ring VR upgrade or new VR experience set in the same world is going to be very tempting for both companies.
