Although it's entirely possible to grab it «early on» in terms of location, it's locked behind a pretty powerful boss (especially for new Tarnished). Here's how Elden Ring fans can get their hands on the Jar Cannon and start blasting cannon-ball-sized holes in their foes.
Players that want the Jar Cannon for themselves will need to make the long and arduous trek to the Volcano Cave, north of Mt. Gelmir. The sprawling mountain is located far north of Elden Ring's starting area in a place, past even the Atlas Plateau. There are two main ways to access the zone, with the first being through the Atlas Plateau itself. This route is long and arduous, as it involves first getting to the Plateau itself, which requires piecing together the Dectus Medallion and riding the Grand Lift of Dectus up from Liurnia of the Lakes.
The second path will require players to access a special area in Raya Lucaria and die to a Virgin Abductor. Players that start out at the Church of the Cuckoo Site of Grace and head outside the door at the end of the hallway will find themselves in the graveyard of Raya Lucaria.
