During a recent interview, Dylan McDermott spoke about his vastly different characters in Law & Order: Organized Crime and FBI: Most Wanted. McDermott joined the cast of the hit Law & Orderfranchise when the spinoff series, Law & Order: Organized Crime, began in 2021. He performed as Richard Wheatley, a businessman with ties to the Mafia and the nemesis of NYPD detective, Elliot Stabler.
In February, it was confirmed that McDermott would leave his role as Wheatley to star in FBI: Most Wantedas Special Agent Remy Scott, the newest leader of the FBI's Fugitive Task Force and CBS’s latest hero. McDermott’s characters in the two shows are nearly opposites, a fact that people have noticed and vocalized. Now, McDermott has joined the conversation surrounding how different the two characters are.

After months of discussions on his FBI: Most Wantedcasting, McDermott has added to the discourse in an interview with Deadline, where he spoke about fan comments and compared the two characters. When asked about his shift from playing a bad guy to playing a good guy, McDermott said he has seen the comments made by fans, saying «I think it's really interesting. I've been reading comments online, and people are saying: „It's too soon. He's Richard Wheatley, a bad guy.“ The actor went on to discuss how different Richard Wheatley and Remy Scott are and teases what audiences can expect from his next character.
