Fans of the zombie-smashin’, rooftop runnin’ chicanery of Dying Light 2: Stay Human will have cause for celebration this month, as developer Techland has announced that it is working on a New Game+ mode for its survival horror title — expected to launch in-game by the end of this very month.
“Survivors, Our team is working hard on patch 3 for Dying Light 2 Stay Human,” writes the dev squad on Twitter “It will be one of the biggest patches we’ve released so far, apart from many fixes for both multi and single-player mode, it will also introduce a New Game+ mode, giving you more reasons to re-visit The City. We’re planning to release patch 3 on all platforms by the end of this month. Full notes will be available once the update is live.”
Dying Light 2 — which launched in December 2021 after a lengthy development period and multiple delays — once again blends open-world gameplay, survivalist elements, and a heavy slant of acrobatic traversal with some good, old-fashioned, monster-mashing. The critical consensus for the sequel was mostly positive but relatively unenthused. The dedicated Dying Light fanbase, however, has been far more into the title, soaking up its off-the-wall mayhem and massive free-running environment.
Still, despite the community’s positive response to the long-awaited sequel, a lot of players have been requesting the ability to hit that ol’ re-roll button — starting their long journey through the dangerous nights of The City anew, but readily stocked to the gills with top-tier stats, gear, and weaponry. For those survivors looking to enjoy a splatteriffic God Complex, the wait is almost over.
Dying Light 2: Stay Human is available now on PlayStation, PC, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch platforms.
