Dying Light 2 officially launches on Friday, but some fans have been playing all week already. It appears a retail outlet dropped the ball and sent copies out early, something which pirates were quick to capitalize on.
In response, developer Techland is asking fans to hold off playing until its launch and has its day one patch, and reserve judgement until then.

Techland first acknowledged the leak yesterday, indicating that copies had been out in the wild for some time before that. Redditors say they've seen links to play the full game on jailbroken PS4s circulate since Monday, days before its intended launch.
"Fellow survivors, we see that some of you got an access [sic] to the retail copies of Dying Light 2 before the release date", a statement on the Dying Light Twitter reads. "We understand you want to start exploring the City ASAP and we couldn’t be happier!"
However, fans are asked to hold off until this Friday, so the team has time to finish the improvements that will come with the day one patch. "That’s the way to experience Dying Light 2 the way it’s meant to be played", the developers explain.
Despite this warning, a fan who say they're currently playing through on PS4 is full of praise. "After playing 3 hours on the base ps4 without day 1 patches I can confirm that the game is so smooth and looks stunning", says Reddit user brutalsam. "I can also confirm that I encountered 0 bugs, this last gen version is incredible".
