During Gamescom Opening Night Live’s presentation, a brand new was shown off, teasing more of the game.
The trailer gives viewers a look at deeper look at what they’ll do on the sands of Arrakis. In it, players can cultivate areas to live, build out environments, and also take part in combat against other players. The trailer ends with perhaps one of the most iconic things to do on Arrakis, summoning a sandworm to take down your enemies.
There is still no known release date for Dune: Awakening, but the game is set to release sometime in “early 2025,” and will be available on PC. PlayStation and Xbox release dates will also be announced at a later date.

Dune: Awakening is an open-world survival MMO and takes place on Arrakis that will also be “shared by thousands of players.” Arrakis will be one seamless world that combines tough survival gameplay and the social aspects of large, persistent online games.
Dune: Awakening is being developed by Funcom and Nukklear GmbH and published by Funcom. The game is inspired by Frank Herbert’s monumental sci-fi series, with visual inspiration coming from 2021’s Dune, which was directed by Denis Villeneuve.
