The latest event in Call of Duty: Warzone has seen the Pacific island of Caldera taken over by two of cinema's greatest monsters — Godzilla and King Kong. Players have been trying to survive the monsters, and other players, as part of the Operation Monarch event, where the two kaiju can play a direct role in who wins and who loses if players get too close to either. However, it appears not everyone is a fan of the event, as popular YouTube streamer Dr Disrespect has shown in a recent social media post criticizing the crossover.
Call of Duty: Warzone launched in 2019 shortly after the release of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare reboot from Infinity Ward as a new free-to-play battle royale option. The original version saw matches of up to 150 players, either running solo or in teams, drop into the city of Verdansk and try to survive to be the last one standing, though eliminated players had a chance to earn their way back into the match by winning a 1v1 in the gulag. Warzone evolved with the subsequent releases of Black Ops: Cold War and Vanguard, most notably adding Rebirth Island and Caldera as alternate map options.

As mentioned above, the end of April saw the start of the limited-time event and Godzilla vs. Kong crossover Operation Monarch. The event saw some changes to Caldera to go along with the event, Godzilla vs. Kong-themed cosmetic packs, and the two titular monsters causing havoc on Caldera during active matches. Dr Disrespect made it clear on Twitter that he was not a fan of this event, though, saying it was a «2.2/10» and implying the event was specifically meant for young children.
