Fans may have just received confirmation that Cyberpunk 2077's often-hinted-at transmog system could finally arrive soon. While Cyberpunk 2077’s initial 2020 release left many players disappointed, the developers at CD Projekt Red behind the RPG have slowly but steadily worked to fix the many technical issues that plagued Cyberpunk 2077 at launch and added in many of the features that were promised during the game’s nearly decade-long development cycle. The largest and most drastic of these Cyberpunk 2077 updates was released in February and finally brought CDPR’s latest project into the current console generation alongside many quality-of-life improvements.
Not only has this year’s Cyberpunk 2077 1.5 patch introduced many long-awaited features, like the ability to change main protagonist V’s hairstyle and appearance after the initial character creation screen and updates to the game's traffic and vehicle behavior, but there were also clues that CDPR could add a few more requested mechanics — such as a transmog system in Cyberpunk 2077 that would allow players to replace the appearance of any of their equipped items — or even render them invisible without sacrificing any perks or stat boosts. While some Cyberpunk 2077 players have uncovered a workaround for the lack of a true transmog system, it is limited to “hiding” certain equipment.
