It's no secret at this point that Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness shares more than a few passing connections with the duo of Disney Plus series WandaVision and Loki. However, what might be a touch less clear is not just how deep that shared DNA goes, but in what ways they will all affect each other going forward.
Thanks to an interview with Michael Waldron, who served as a writer for both Loki and Doctor Strange 2, it looks as though the secrets of the multiverse will bleed over from the new film into some future stories. When the season 1 finale of Loki essentially opened up the concept of multiple parallel universes for the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, it basically set the stage for Doctor Strange 2. Now, the latest film appears poised to return the favor, setting up both Loki and the future of the MCU itself.

Naturally, given how Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness only just premiered, Waldron wasn't about to open the spoiler floodgates and infuriate a whole bunch of excited nerd folk. So when he spoke to Digital Spy about the movie and what it could affect in future stories, he kept his cards close to the chest. «Well, I mean, look, everything leads into everything, right?» Waldron said when asked about a potential link between Doctor Strange 2 and Loki's upcoming 2nd season. «We've hired a couple of great directors [for Loki season 2]. [Justin] Benson and [Aaron] Moorhead are brilliant. And Eric Martin has taken over as head writer for season 2. So the creative team is fantastic. As Tom [Hiddleston] once said, there's plenty more mischief to come.»
