In August 2022, Disney+ is welcoming Pixar’s latest movie, a new LEGO Star Wars adventure, a new TV show from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a new TV series from a galaxy far far away, a series of shorts starring one of the MCU’s most beloved characters, and new episodes of some of the platform’s original series. While cinemas all over the world are open and working as usual again, and studios can finally release all their movies in theaters, streaming platforms haven’t lost any force, and in many cases, they have not only kept their doors open for those movies that skip theaters but they also continue bringing a variety of original content. Such is the case of Disney+, which keeps welcoming movies that were recently released in theaters while adding more content from its different branches every month, as well as more original TV shows and movies.
August saw less content than in previous months, with the addition of a behind-the-scenes look at Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, a new batch of adventures from Mickey Mouse, the long-awaited movie Zombies 3, the final episodes of Ms. Marvel, and the first episode of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series season 3. When it comes to licensed content, in August Disney+ will add titles for a younger audience, such as Alice's Wonderland Bakery and The Ghost and Molly McGee, the sing-along versions of The Lion King (2019), The Lion King II: Simba's Pride, Tangled, and the animated and live-action adaptations of The Beauty and the Beast, the comedies Father of the Bride and Father of the Bride Part II, and Pixar’s Lightyear.
