Increasing Friendship Levels with the various Disney characters throughout Disney Dreamlight Valley provides a great deal of rewards and benefits, aside from unlocking more Friendship Quests. Mostly, the bonuses from leveling up are cosmetic rewards and Star Coins. One of the first things that players will unlock is Companion Roles.
While it may seem insignificant given how early that Disney Dreamlight Valley players unlock it, Companion Roles are one of the most impactful rewards from a gameplay standpoint. With a bit of planning and forethought, players will be able to get a great deal of benefit from assigning Roles to their Disney friends.
Disney Dreamlight Valley: How to Get Early Access
Upon reaching Friendship Level 2 with one of the villagers, Disney Dreamlight Valley players will be prompted to select one of five Roles for their friend. The five Roles are Gardening, Fishing, Mining, Foraging, and Digging. As players will likely notice, these roles all represent the various activities players can do around the Valley (excluding cooking and crafting, of course). The basic premise of these Roles is that they provide a chance for players to gain additional resources. Players should know, however, that this is not a passive bonus and needs to be activated.
After reaching Friendship Level 2 and choosing a Role for a character, Disney Dreamlight Valley players will see a new option appear whenever they talk to that character. Listed underneath the usual choices is the option to say: «Let's Hang Out!».
