The further into the main story they get, the more options players will have in Digimon Survive. By the time they reach Part 4, they'll have access to a wide range of Digimon, one of whom is the Vaccine type Digimon, Gatomon. Granted, it may not seem like much when compared to other Champion Digimon like Meramon, but discounting Gatomon based on looks alone would be a huge mistake for anyone hoping to build a balanced team.
Digimon Survive: How to Befriend Patamon
Despite its wholesome design, Gatomon is a solid all-rounder with decent stats and a powerful Digivolution path ahead of it. That's not to say that there aren't better Vaccine type Digimon in Digimon Survive, but given how time-consuming it can be to cycle between enemies in Free Battle areas, players would be foolish not to at least try to befriend Gatomon if given the chance.
Gatomon uses the same questions and statements as Gotsumon and the process for befriending the cute little critter remains more or less the same. Players will need to talk to Gatomon and then respond to three of its questions and statements, with their choices having an impact on the bar above the Digimon's head. If three or more segments of the bar are full by the time the conversation ends, players will have the opportunity to ask the Digimon to become friends.
Like most humans, Gatomon just wants somebody to love it and will respond well to signs of affection as a result. When compared with some of its peers, it seems to be a genuinely nice Digimon, and this is something that players will want to take into account when responding to its questions and statements.
