Blizzard has released an official Diablo Immortal development blog post recapping their learnings based on Closed Beta feedback. Game Director Wyatt Cheng and Senior System Designer Kris Zierhut also talk about changes made in preparation for Diablo Immortal's planned launch in 2022. Planned changes include modifications of the in-game purchases system and to multiple end game systems.

Dungeon bounties will be removed from the Bounty pool. Instead, Blizzard will focus on the Shadows and their Contracts as a way to interact with daily content as a group. Helliquary bosses, one of Diablo Immortal's end-game systems in the form of 8-man encounters, will receive multiple difficulty levels.Blizzard also plans to release a new Helliquary boss every month. Changes to in-game purchases will be made, including the Boon of Plenty. Unlike the very popular Battle Pass model, the Boon of Plenty, which lasted for up to 90 days, has lacked a feeling of value in Closed Beta.
Blizzard will extend the list of compatible controller devices and improve controller detection. The short list of compatible controllers has been a pain point for mobile gamers with specialized peripherals during Diablo Immortal's test phases. Warbands, another social system in Diablo Immortal limited to 8 players, will see improvements in regards to features and rewards.
The introduction of set items in Diablo Immortal was very well received over the course of the Closed Beta. Blizzard is looking into removing the downsides of set item acquisition based on player feedback. The Cycle of Strife end-game PvPvE system will receive a major overhaul.
