For those waiting for the eventual arrival of Diablo 4, Blizzard is helping to scratch that itch with its mobile title Diablo Immortal. Although the game experienced plenty of controversy during its announcement at BlizzCon 2018, the game has seemingly stuck a chord with many, offering the familiar loot based gameplay on a smaller scale. Players can pick from six different classes and earn XP and loot through defeating monsters.
However, this mobile version of the popular Diablo franchise does introduce a few new mechanics and features. Naturally, a mobile-first title means it was designed with touchscreen and virtual controls in mind. For players on the go, skills feature auto-aim by default, mana has been removed in favor of a cooldown system, and characters like the Barbarian have an ultimate ability they can utilize to decimate enemies.

In addition to gameplay changes, Diablo Immortal has some new features players can utilize like the PvP-centric mode Cycle of Strife and the boss mode known as the Helliquary. For those who enjoy buildcrafting and optimizing gear, there's also the Essence Transfer mechanic, which can both extract and infuse unique properties.
Inside of Diablo Immortal, players can use the gear-related mechanic known as Essence Transfer to take a legendary perk from one piece of gear and infuse it into a different one. This is great for those who find a legendary item with a great perk, but may not be quite as good as the item being used. This way, the player can utilize the perk while making themselves stronger.
