Footage from the ongoing Diablo 4 Alpha Test has been leaked online. The next major installment in the long-running series from Blizzard Entertainment is still quite a ways away from releasing, as it was delayed to 2023 alongside Overwatch 2. In the meantime, the studio has been giving fans quarterly updates on the game’s development. During last March’s quarterly update, Blizzard revealed that Diablo 4 will feature more than 150 dungeons, which the company is achieving by making the game’s environmental assets more flexible and reusable.
As for the second quarterly update of the year, Blizzard coincided it with the Xbox and Bethesda Showcase last June where the studio showed off a new trailer unveiling the game’s fifth class, the Necromancer. The Necromancer is supposedly the last of the game’s first set of character classes, alongside Barbarian, Sorceress, Druid, and Rogue. The list of classes that will be available in Diablo 4 is a combination of classes that have appeared in the series’ first three titles, with the Barbarian, Sorceress, Druid, and Necromancer first appearing in Diablo 2 while the Rogue originated from Diablo 1. However, Blizzard has also revealed that Diablo 4’s Necromancer will be different from its previous incinerations, which is true for the rest of the classes as well.
