Trek to Yomi is an upcoming third-person cinematic action-adventure game from Leonard Menchiari and Flying Wild Hog focusing on a young Japanese swordsman named Hiroki. Published by Devolver Digital,Trek to Yomi is scheduled to launch on May 5, which should explain the latest marketing effort for the game.Trek to Yomi doesn't have anything to do with Sega's upcoming Sonic the Hedgehog classic game bundle Sonic Origins. However, that isn't going to stop Devolver from capitalizing on an opportunity that Sonic Origins presented.
As part of Sega's announcement of Sonic Origins, it revealed a chart displaying the game's various editions, pre-order content, and DLC. The confirmation that Sega was taking these classic Sonic the Hedgehog games and monetizing them in such a way was met with frustration from fans. Devolver, with its well-known sense of humor, responded with a humorous post on Twitter mocking Sega's Sonic Origins chart and promoting the upcoming release of Trek to Yomi.
