Bungie has announced that it is raising the prices for Destiny 2 season passes. Originally priced at 1,000 Silver (around $10), season passes will now be priced at 1,200 Silver (around $12). This increase in price will currently only affect players who buy season passes individually, rather than as part of Lightfall‘s deluxe edition.
The studio has also announced an increase to prices for purchasing season pass ranks. Prices will be raised by 10%. For example, the +10 Ranks Bundle will see its price changed from 2,000 Silver (around $20) to 2,200 Silver (around $22).
While Bungie hasn’t provided any reason for the price increase, it has stated that this will be the new pricing for Lightfall‘s season passes. The company hasn’t stated whether the next Destiny 2 expansion—The Final Shape—will see any changes in pricing, and whether the new pricing will effect future expansions’ deluxe edition pricing.
Destiny 2 recently got a hotfix that added a new connection-based matchmaking option for some of its Guardian Games-based PvP modes. The Guardian Games themselves, announced earlier this month, got a new trailer earlier this week, showing off new Legendary sets and weapons.
