The excitement among the Destiny community has been palpable leading up to the launch of Destiny 2's newest expansion, The Witch Queen, with players speculating what may be waiting inside Savathun's Throne World. Between weapon crafting, the legendary campaign, and Void 3.0, there will be plenty for players to sink their teeth into on day one while more lay over the horizon. However, some dataminers are not waiting to dig into the game and have been posting game files on social media just hours ahead of The Witch Queen going live.
The Witch Queen is the fourth major expansion for Destiny 2, which will see players battle against the Hive god of cunning and titular queen, Savathun. Guardians are tasked with venturing into her dangerous Throne World to learn how she has been reborn in the Light and what will need to be done to take it back. Standing between Savathun and guardians, though, are the Light-imbued Hive guardians of the Lucent Brood and the dangerous mysteries of the Throne World itself.
Destiny 2 Known Issues for Witch Queen Include Overload Mod Bug
Preloads for The Witch Queen and Update 4.0.0.1 went live at 9 PM PST/12 AM EST, dropping in various game files to ensure the expansion is ready to play around weekly reset. It was these game files dataminers were quick to dive into on PC, digging through what was immediately available for anything that may be worth posting on social media. The most common, thus far, has been on YouTube, containing up to an hour of in-game audio and dialogue from the campaign, new raid, and other activities.
