Attendees of Disneyland Paris's new Avengers Campus might spot a tiny reference that all but confirms Deadpool's existence in the MCU. Since Disney's 2019 purchase of 20th Century Fox, there's been an anxious wait for some of the Marvel characters owned to that point by Fox, such as the X-Men and the Fantastic Four, to cross over into Disney's Marvel Cinematic Universe. A similar deal in 2015 by Disney and Sony made it possible for Spider-Man to web-swing alongside Iron Man and Doctor Strange, so the idea of seeing Wolverine meet Thor, or watching the Hulk and the Thing square off, now seems possible.
Since the record Valentine's Day release of Deadpool in 2016, however, fans of the wise-cracking mutant mercenary have been wanting him to drop into the MCU. Deadpool and its 2018 sequel have appealed to want for a hard-R bite to the superhero genre, as well as to those who've preferred a heaping of cartoon violence as opposed to the comparatively sanitized, all-audiences mindset of the MCU. Even as Ryan Reynolds has tapped Free Guy director Shawn Levy to help bring the character into MCU canon with a Deadpool 3, it was disappointing to learn a rumor that Deadpool would have a Doctor Strange 2 cameo proved to be baseless.
