Black Adam actor Aldis Hodge talks about officially joining the DCEU franchise when getting the surreal Hawkman casting call from star Dwayne Johnson. After several years of being stuck in development hell, Black Adam is finally coming to theaters this fall. Johnson, who landed the role of Black Adam in 2014, was initially going to star in Shazam! as Billy Batson's iconic antagonist. However, Warner Bros. decided to go in a different direction by doing a Black Adam movie to give Johnson's character an origin story on the big screen.
While Black Adam will serve as the live-action debut of Teth-Adam, the film is also bringing several iconic DC Comics characters into the DCEU. As Black Adam is being depicted as an anti-hero, he will be rivaled by some traditional superheroes in the form of the Justice Society of America. While there have been several members in the comics, the DCEU iteration will start off with Hawkman, Doctor Fate, Cyclone, and Atom Smasher. For his cinematic debut, Hodge will be bringing Carter Hall to life, better known as the winged DC warrior.
