New poster art for DC League of Super-Pets shows Dwayne Johnson’s Krypto painting a celebratory Chinese New Year card. Warner Bros.’s latest upcoming animated feature, the League of Super-Pets is also set to feature the vocal talents of Kevin Hart, Kate McKinnon, John Krasinski, and Keanu Reeves. The film will follow Superman’s faithful canine Krypto as he forms his own team of super-powered pets when the Justice League is captured by Lex Luthor (voiced by Marc Maron).
Most recently Warner Bros. DC has released a series of new poster art for their upcoming 2022 film slate designed specifically for the recent Chinese Lunar New Year. In addition to similar art prepared for Johnson’s other DC outing Black Adam, DC has released posters for The Batman and The Flash. The poster for League of Super-Pets shows Krypto wearing a traditional embroidered hat and painting calligraphy on a Chinese New Year’s card. Check out the new poster below:

Originally released by DC on the Weibo social media network, these new posters clearly indicate a deliberate push from Warner Bros. to appeal to the increasingly valuable Chinese box office. DC’s last big-screen adventure, The Suicide Squad, did not manage to secure a release date in China, which partly contributed to its relatively poor international box office earnings. Previous DCEU outings, such as Aquaman, however, performed exceedingly well in the country and it is clear that Warner Bros. has big plans for the international release of DC League of Super-Pets and its other 2022 films in the highly coveted market.
