Dark Souls 3’s PC servers have been brought back online after 7 months
Dark Souls 3’s PC servers have finally been brought back online, seven months after being deactivated due to a potentially serious security issue.
The PvP servers for the PC versions of Dark Souls: Remastered, Dark Souls 2 and Dark Souls 3 were deactivated in January following the discovery of a severe remote code execution vulnerability, which was said to allow abusers to take control of other players’ computers.
In May, Bandai Namco confirmed plans to restore the servers but provided no timeframe for when this might happen.
“Online features for the PC version of Dark Souls III have been reactivated,” reads a message published on the Dark Souls Twitter account on Thursday.
“We are working to restore these features for all other Dark Souls titles and will inform you when they are back in service.
“Thank you once more for your patience and support.”

Last month, Dark Souls, Elden Ring and Tekken publisher Bandai Namco confirmed claims that its servers had been hacked and confidential information had been acquired.
Following the ransomware attack, the company said it was investigating the extent of the leaks, which could include customer information, and was strengthening its security measures to prevent recurrence.
