An accidental tweet from the wrong account recently revealed that TheRealInsider was actually YouTuber DanAllenGaming, sharing information received via NDA through his second secret account. Now, the YouTuber has issued an apology video regarding the subject. As many are no doubt aware, there have been a ton of information leaked only recently like Diablo 4's gameplay and the Grand Theft Auto 6 debacle, leading to a hyper-focus on debates around morality and leaks. TheRealInsider was responsible for leakingAssassin's Creed content, making a handful of educated guesses that were taken as leaks, and even revealing false information.
TheRealInsider was an account (now deleted) that, among other things, broke NDA to reveal the future Assassin's Creed games ahead of Ubisoft Forward, stated God of War Ragnarok would be at the State of Play based on a Christopher Judge tweet, and accumulated enough «clout» and followers that his claims of new Silent Hill games and a Metal Gear Solid Remake were taken at face value.

DanAllenGaming was revealed to be this account when he accidentally responded to a tweet meant for TheRealInsider as his DanAllenGaming account, leading to both accounts being deleted. It didn't take long for many to put two and two together, and DanAllenGaming confirmed it was him in a recent video dubbed «I'm sorry.» He acknowledges how he undermined his efforts on YouTube and all the followers he's accumulated there and betrayed the trust of various companies like Ubisoft.
