The X-Men's Scott Summers just reclaimed the phrase that shamed him for a decade, "Cyclops was right", in the best possible way. Once used to underline Cyclops' radical and almost terrorist approach to mutant politics, the phrase has now taken a whole new meaning as Scott stands up against Krakoa's Quiet Council decision to keep the secret of mutant immortality hidden from the world.
Beginning with the catastrophic mutant Decimation, Cyclops began moving away from Professor Xavier's dream of peaceful coexistence between humans and mutants. After founding the short-lived nation of Utopia, Scott treated the young surviving mutants as soldiers to preventively take out threats to mutantkind, which led to a schism with Wolverine, who went on to reopen Xavier's school, splitting the X-Men. Cyclops then came in contact with the Phoenix Force, which dragged out his dark side further and led him to kill Xavier. Even after the Phoenix undid the Decimation, Cyclops was still considered a criminal, but many people (both humans and mutants) actually approved of his radical approach, leading to the birth of the "Cyclops was right" movement.

In X-Men #12, by Gerry Duggan, Pepe Larraz, and Marte Gracia, Cyclops and Synch reveal the truth about the X-Men's immortality to Ben Urich, so that the journalist can get it out to the world. This is in open opposition to the orders of the Quiet Council, Krakoa's governing body, who wanted to keep the Resurrection Protocols a secret for fear of repercussions.
