A talented Johnny Silverhand cosplayer recently channeled the rebellious rockerboy to address CD Projekt Red’s handling of Cyberpunk 2077 at a fan convention. Hollywood megastar Keanu Reeves lent his voice and likeness to Johnny, an anti-establishment rocker and fallen revolutionary whose neural engrams are unwittingly loaded into Cyberpunk 2077’s playable and fully-customizable protagonist V. Despite Reeves promoting the game heavily in the lead-up to its long-awaited release in 2020, he has never actually played Cyberpunk 2077 himself.
Perhaps he was right to wait, as Cyberpunk 2077 infamously launched with a multitude of game-crashing bugs and glitches, so much so that outlets like the PlayStation Store ended up temporarily pulling Cyberpunk 2077 from their libraries and offering players refunds. Additionally, several major features that developer CD Projekt Red promised while marketing Cyberpunk 2077 were ultimately missing at launch, such as the fast-travel subway system that was featured heavily in Cyberpunk 2077's pre-launch promotional material. Since then, CD Projekt Red has set out to correct the worst of these technical issues and add some of these missing features with several Cyberpunk 2077 update patches, and Cyberpunk 2077 is slowly but surely starting to resemble the groundbreaking futuristic RPG experience that was promised during the game’s nearly decade-long development cycle.
