In late 2020, Cyberpunk 2077 was released to a mountain of controversy surrounding its performance issues and bugs on consoles. As a result, all DLC plans for the game were put on hold as CD Projekt Red began the extensive process of fixing the game. Now, at long last, it appears that the company might be gearing up to officially reveal a new DLC expansion for Cyberpunk 2077.
Earlier this year, plot details for Cyberpunk 2077 DLC were leaked, but it was not made clear when it would be released. Earlier this month, however,Cyberpunk 2077's official Twitter account may have dropped a pretty big hint on the matter. Specifically, it replied to German YouTuber Varion, playfully asking when DLC will be coming CD Projekt Red's latest game. With Gamescom rapidly approaching, this Tweet may very well have been teasing an announcement at the upcoming convention.

Around the same time the DLC leak occurred, CD Projekt Red revealed that Cyberpunk 2077's DLC marketing would begin at some point in 2022. Over the past year and a half, the company has been fixing the game's numerous issues through various updates in an effort to restore its reputation. The latest patch for the game was the 1.52 update, but a 1.6 patch was also confirmed to be in the works. Once the company finally wraps up work on the game, it will begin development on The Witcher 4 in earnest. If this Tweet is anything to go on, however, it appears that the company is ready to add more content to the controversial game.
