Cyberpunk 2077 just launched its first and only DLC, Phantom Liberty, alongside the major 2.0 update. Many fans claim that the update and expansion have ironed out most of the game's long-standing problems, fulfilling old promises after years of waiting. Our own reviewer Andrew King says that it finally made the game "worth the trip". However, according to CD Projekt Red, these are the last major updates, meaning that the Cyberpunk 2077 we have today is the final version.
"2.0 and Phantom Liberty are the last big updates," game director Gabe Amatangelo told PC Gamer. "We'll do a little something more, but those are the last big ones. Then it's Cyberpunk 2. Or 'Orion', I should say, whatever we end up naming it."

Of course, there'll be bug fixes and fine-tuning to continue polishing the experience, but there won't be another drastic overhaul or any new content, let alone a story-driven expansion with new characters that furthers V's narrative. As for when we'll see Cyberpunk 2, it isn't clear. CD Projekt Red has a lot of games in the pipeline, and it seems that Witcher is the focus right now.
Last year, CD Pojekt Red president and joint CEO Adam Kiciński revealed that Witcher remake will launch after The Witcher 4. We don't know when The Witcher 4 itself will come out, but it's likely CDPR's next major title. Then there's The Witcher Sirius and Project Hadar, two other games in development we know little about.
With so much in the works and Cyberpunk 2077 finally in a better place, it's understandable that CDPR is eager to move on and focus its attention elsewhere.
