Warning: The following contains SPOILERS for Thor: Love and Thunder.
Mighty Thor's origin story in Thor: Love and Thunder would have been much better if at least one scene didn't make the final cut. To be fair to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the feature film format is limited to just around two hours, which makes it extremely difficult to adapt Marvel Comics' extremely dense storylines into film. This task is further compounded by the MCU's introduction of non-traditional characters from the comic books. As a result, the MCU typically only loosely adapts stories from the comics, as seen in how Doctor Jane Foster's Mighty Thor becomes the conduit for the return of Mjolnir in Thor: Love and Thunder.
Thor:Love and Thunder explains the origin of Mighty Thor by revealing that, back when Thor and Jane were still dating, Thor asked Mjolnir to protect Jane no matter what, which is what triggers Mjolnir to call Jane to New Asgard. Later on, Jane's actions as Mighty Thor proved that she was indeed worthy of wielding Mjolnir. However, it's clear that Thor inadvertently enchanting Mjolnir to help Jane was essentially what set Jane on the path to wielding the hammer. This particularThor: Love and Thunder scene wasn't just unnecessary, it also got in the way of what is otherwise a worthy movie adaptation of Marvel's long and complex Mighty Thor story arc.

The problem with Thor basically ordering Mjolnir to protect Jane is that it dilutes Jane's agency, as it implies that it was Thor who created Mighty Thor in the first place. Though Mighty Thor's MCU debut in the Thor: Love and Thunder cast was fine, it pales in comparison to her epic Marvel Comics origin.
