Larry David confirms Curb Your Enthusiasm is returning for season 12. David hatched his now-iconic HBO comedy series back in 2000. The most recent season, the show’s eleventh, ran in 2021.
Curb of course revolves around the hilariously crotchety exploits of David, playing a somewhat fictionalized version of his real self. Much like Seinfeld, the also-iconic NBC series David co-created with Jerry Seinfeld, Curb derives much of its comedy from a hyper-focus on seemingly insignificant details of every day life and an obsession with the randomness of social rules. A classic sitcom anti-hero much in the vein of Seinfeld’s core foursome, David’s job on Curb Your Enthusiasm is to behave incredibly selfishly in all situations, inviting the audience to laugh at his socially inappropriate escapades and perhaps quietly root for him to get away with doing and saying things only a sociopath would ever consider trying.

Indeed only 11 seasons of the show have been released in over 20 years, and it’s always up-in-the-air whether the mercurial David will decide to return for one more season. But speculation about Curb Your Enthusiasm season 12 can indeed now end, as David said during an appearance at a TV Academy event at the DGA that he’s ready to do more (via Deadline). This follows on the heels of HBO Chief Content Officer Casey Bloys saying in February that he believed Curb would continue.
