CS:GO hits record 1.3m concurrent players on Steam
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) has hit a new record for concurrent players on Steam.
Data from SteamDB – spotted by PC Gamer – shows that 1,320,219 people were playing Valve's shooter at the same time at 13:50 UTC on Saturday, February 11th. The following day, the game hit a peak of 1,299,983 simultaneous users. The previous record was 1,308,963 back in April 2020.
This comes approaching 11 years after the game's initial 2012 release. For much of its time in the wild, the shooter was a premium release. That changed in 2018, when the Valve changed the title to be free-to-play when the company added a battle royale mode to the game.
It's not clear what has caused this increase in players.
