Recently, Square Enix announced a remake of Crisis Core was coming soon, titled Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion. The developers of theFinal Fantasy 7 remaster have confirmed an important Easter egg pertaining to Sephiroth’s hair care routine would be carried over in the remake.
In a Eurogamer interview with executive producer Yoshinori Kitase and producer Mariko Sato, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth revealed some similarities and differences players could expect to see in the remaster. Though the core story will remain the same, gameplay mechanics–most notably the combat system and visuals–will be overhauled. But most importantly, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion will preserve the special Easter egg that revealed one of the universe’s biggest secrets: how does Sephiroth–the main antagonist of Final Fantasy 7–maintain his impossibly luscious locks?
Final Fantasy 7 Dev Has No Plans to Remake Dirge of Cerberus or Before Crisis
During the original Crisis Core, players could join a number of fan clubs during the game. While these fan clubs have little practical purpose, they do unlock a fair bit of fun flavor for Midgar. One of these fan clubs, called Silver Elite, is a Sephiroth fan club dedicated to the first SOLDIER. If players join the fan club, they get an email titled “The scent of silver winds,” which details the secret of Sephiroth’s otherworldly hair care routine.
Players were relieved to see such an important piece of trivia was being preserved in Crisis Core: Final Fantasy 7 Reunion. Crisis Core is all about providing additional context for Final Fantasy 7, and the fan club content was integral to building the atmosphere of Midgar society.
