Convert Gems into Illustrious Gem Dust to Speed Up the Cataclysm Jewelcrafting Grind
At the time, Cataclysm had one of the best systems for learning new profession recipes through daily quests, but now it can be an arduous grind to collect outdated designs. Jewelcrafting is the worst offender, requiring 545 daily quests to earn enough Illustrious Jewelcrafter's Token to purchase them all! A new spell and reagent added in Patch 10.0.7 will speed this up considerably though — Cataclysm Crushing will convert uncommon, rare, and epic level Cataclysm gems into Illustrious Gemdust, which can be exchanged for extra Illustrious Jewelcrafter's Tokens or Chimera's Eye! This dramatically reduces the amount of time needed to acquire what are now low level and outdated designs — a win for collectors everywhere! Nine pages, and that's not even all of the designs! Of course this doesn't make it instantaneous, but if you're in need of extra Cataclysm gems and can't find enough on the Auction House, consider running Dragon Soul a few times to purchase some extra Crystalline Geode and Elementium-Coated Geode from Dasnurimi.
