A trailer for a new Sally Rooney television adaptation from Hulu, Conversations With Friends, has been released. Based on the 2017 debut novel by Irish author Rooney, the story navigates the intricate, increasingly fraught relationships between vulnerable 21-year-old college student Frances, her best friend Bobbi, and married couple Melissa and Nick. The miniseries features Sasha Lane as Bobbi Connolly, Joe Alwyn as Nick Conway, Jemima Kirke as Melissa Conway, and newcomer Alison Oliver as Frances.
Now, the Conversations With Friends trailer has beenreleased by Hulu, giving a glimpse at the highly-anticipated adaptation. The two-minute trailer enticingly showcases the impending drama of the series by highlighting the performances of Alwyn, Kirke, Lane, and Oliver as they relay the tumultuous complexity of the four characters' relationships with each other. The romantic trailer also features a poignant original song by indie-folk artist Phoebe Bridgers.

Conversations With Friends is a collaboration between Hulu, BBC Three, and Ireland's own Raidió Teilifís Éireann (RTÉ). Principal photography for the show began in Northern Ireland in April 2021, the chosen setting illustrating the adaptation's grounding in the novel's cultural origins despite its now international appeal. The adaptation follows the success of the Hulu adaptation of Rooney's 2018 novel Normal Peoplestarring Daisey Edgar-Jones and Paul Mescal, which released on Hulu in 2020 to critical and commercial acclaim.
